CSRDE Best Practices in Student Retention Awards 2021
CSRDE announced our Best Practices in Student Retention Awards for 2021 at NSSR 2021 LIVE on November 2. Congratulations to all of our award winners!
- Daphne Holland and Deborah Conner of Coastal Carolina University, and Mary Fischer of Western Carolina University won the 2021 Best Practices in Student Retention Award for their paper A Case Study for the Successful Development and Assessment of a University-Wide Academic Recovery Program for First-Year Students. Best Practices Award winners must demonstrate evidence of a system-wide approach to the institution’s retention issues
- Sarah Kyte, Laura Andrews, Jen Ludwig, and Christine Salvesen of University of Arizona received the 2021 Institutional Research Leadership in Student Retention Award for their paper Data-Driven and Student-Centered: Strong Gains in First-Year Retention With the Introduction of a Warning Semester. This award is given to the paper best demonstrating the importance of institutional research to the field of student retention.
- Maurice Edington, Desmond Stephens, Serena Roberts, Carl Moore, Codjo Akpovo, and Lewis Johnson of Florida A&M University were presented the 2021 Director’s Award for their paper, Preparing STEM Scholars for Success (PS3) Program at Florida A&M University. The Director’s Award is given to the paper that best addresses an issue of current interest and need in the field of student retention and success.
- Brandy Smith and Rebecca Smith of University of Nevada, Las Vegas won the 2021 Best Poster Award for their poster Implementation and Assessment of Two Strategic Outreach Campaigns on a Diverse Campus: Implications for Retention and Student Success. The award was selected by a panel of judges at the conference.
